Many other political murders remained unatoned during the years of revolution following the First World War and presented the Weimar Republic with significant issues right from the start. And even though the road to Nazi dictatorship was by no means inevitable, the murders were indicative of the danger.\u00ab<\/p>\n Dr. Florian Weis, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, Berlin<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=“4.7.3″ _module_preset=“default“ text_text_color=“#f4f4f4″ header_2_font=“||||||||“ header_2_text_color=“#ce1b18″ custom_margin=“100px||41px||false|false“ text_font_size_tablet=“14px“ text_font_size_phone=““ text_font_size_last_edited=“on|tablet“ header_2_text_shadow_style=“none“]<\/p>\n In 1919, the leaders of Germany\u2019s Communist Party, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, were murdered by right-wing militia, sanctioned by the Social Democratic government. Max Beckmann recorded the event in a lithograph. Based on this, \u201cEden\u201d reflects once again on the original sin of the Weimar Republic.
