The Museum

Welcome: Das Museum stellt sich vor,

von A wie Ammertal bis Z wie Zott, Christian.

Ammertal

Frühling im Ammertal

The mSE Kunsthalle is located in the nature park Ammergauer Alpen. The surrounding area offers many excursion destinations: the Schleifmühlenklamm, rocky peaks and the Ammerschlucht for nature lovers; Linderhof Castle, the Ettal Monastery and the Oberammergau Passion Theater as evidence of customs and culture. For hiking, mountain biking and for a stop in between there are many beautiful routes and places, daily tips on the linked page.

Architecture

Rendering von Wild Bär Heule

A rural ensemble in a modern design was created by the architect Thomas Wild from the Swiss architectural office Wild Bär Heule for the Kunsthalle and its neighbors. The functionality of modern functional buildings is combined with the building tradition of the Ammer Valley. The wide roofs and wooden facades inspired by the rural tradition create the impression of a homestead that blends harmoniously into the landscape. (Rendering by Wild Bear Heule)

Ausstellungen, vergangene

"Breaking Waves" von Ricky Gumbrecht (Ausschnitt)

Since 2014, the Kunsthalle and its predecessor institution ZOTT Artspace have been showing exhibitions and art projects in various locations: in Verona, Singapore, San Cassiano in the Dolomites, Munich, Venice, Hamburg, Vienna, in the Upper Palatinate and now, of course, in Unterammergau. The works of the past exhibitions are mainly from the genres of sculpture, painting and photography. (Detail from "Breaking Waves" (2018) by Ricky Gumbrecht, © artist)

Hieronymus

To the KAIROS exhibition

With the exhibition KAIROS. The Right Moment , initiator Christian Zott brings 2,000 years of European art history to life from a new perspective with a playful concept: paintings by Wolfgang Beltracchi and photographs by Mauro Fiorese show what is not usually seen in art history, forgotten works and those that were never created, on a tour from Roman antiquity to the mid-20th century.

Lartor

The Boutique-Hotel Lartor has twelve rooms with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, oak wood furniture and parquet flooring. With urban luxury and magnificent views of nature, the Lartor invites you to dream of other worlds, as each room has been dedicated to a different fantastic place in the history of European literature and art. Individual works from Christian Zott's art collection are also displayed in the lobby and corridors.

mSE

The "mSE" of the mSE Kunsthalle stands for "Management Solutions and System Engineering" and comes from the consulting firm for supply chain management mSE Solutionswhich Christian Zott founded over 30 years ago. The company, led to international success, today has five locations on three continents, in Munich, Lübeck, Chicago, Singapore and Bengaluru. The sponsor of the Kunsthalle has since been renamed "HoKairos Holding GmbH".

Collection

In addition to selected loans, the mSE Kunsthalle primarily shows works from the collections of Christian Zott and HoKairos Holding GmbH, which is managed by the mSE Kunsthalle. Behind the link we present individual works of the Collection which are currently neither exhibited in the Kunsthalle nor open to the public in the neighboring buildings. Sculpture

Skulptur des Gottes Kairos von Bruno Wank

Die Sculpture makes up a special focus of the Kunsthalle. In the foyer are masterpieces of the early 20th century by Ernst Barlach and Wilhelm Lehmbruck, alongside contemporary works by Giuseppe Spagnulo, Norbert Tadeusz and others. On the forecourt Bruno Wank interprets the god Kairos in two sculptures; in the sculpture garden contemporary works by Lois Anvidalfarei, Norbert Tadeusz, Spagnulo and other loans are exhibited.
